IMO the controller should have battery packs instead of AA batteries, but battery packs can be bought off Amazon for ~$20 so it's not a big deal, and they let you charge one battery while you play using the other battery and just swap them. Takes AA batteries, but you can put battery packs in the controller instead of batteries and just use rechargeable battery packs. Not Bluetooth compatible (Not very important unless you want play on laptops or tablets or phones) This is a big plus over the Playstation controllers I think. The way the batteries are removable on these controller is nice because you can swap rechargeable battery packs instead of having to plug in your controller. Controller is textured, so your hands get a good grip on the controller

Perfectly compatible with Windows 10 & Steam so setup and configurability was a breeze Buttons are all tactile and register nice clicks on presses Buttons aren't too sticky like old generations Very smooth analog sticks and triggers, much smoother than the Playstation's analogs and triggers Very ergonomic & comfortable in your hand, much more so than Playstation controllers Long lasting charge (I've been playing for 3 days at around 4-5 hours/day and it hasn't died yet) I've been playing video games all my life so I've listed a couple of the things that I've noticed leave an impact on gamers. I've been needing a controller to play some games on PC and this is probably the best controller for the money that you can get for PC. I'm used to the layout and feel of this so I'll keep this one, but never again. I knew the controller was Bluetooth compatible with windows 10, I bought the adapter because it presumably works with windows 7. I can't believe there is such a lack of support for this and the process is so convoluted.

8) *after about 4 hours of googling, installing, reinstalling, restarting, combing various blog forums: ok well I guess Microsoft is discontinuing windows 7, that's really irritating the description is wrong and they're forcing this update 9) Install windows 10 10) Ok following the directions.I have to update the controller firmware using the app store accessories app.alright 11) Hmm looks like it has a 2 star rating that's weird 12) Oh all the reviews say this app bricked their controller.guess Ill avoid that 12).
Whew, that would have been crazy if Microsoft didn't support their own 50 dollar controller.
6) *reading online* what this inst windows 7 compatible? 7) Double check amazon listing, under product description "windows 7" is listed. Weird a lot of windows 7 users are having issues.

1) package arrives 2) open up wireless adapter, plug it in 3) whoops driver errors, take it out uninstall, reinstall 4) hmm that's weird guess Ill restart the computer 5) ok still getting the error. Pretty absurd experience this is the only non-plug and play game controller I have ever encountered.
